Gary R. Tyler Owner and Founder Gulf Coast Building and General Contracting, LLC
During his 30-year career as one of the Tampa Bay area's most respected general contractors, Gary Tyler has built many of the finest homes in northern and central Pinellas County. Imaginative and innovative design, quality craftsmanship and unparalleled personal service have been the foundation of Gary's success, first as owner of Tyler Homes, Inc., and, since 2010, with his newest venture, Gulf Coast Building and General Contracting, LLC.
A native of western Michigan, Gary is a graduate of Michigan State University's acclaimed Construction Management Program. Upon graduation he was employed by Post Properties, Inc., an Atlanta based Multi-family Contruction Company, building properties in Atlanta, Orlando and Tampa Bay. He then founded Tyler Homes, Inc. in 1992 and grew it into one of the most prestigious custom design/build companies in the Tampa Bay area. The company's success was built on Gary's ability to work with each customer on an original plan -- reflecting the client's choice of style, exterior and interior design -- then executing flawlessly to turn the vision into reality. This approach can be seen in many beautiful homes built by Gary in communities including Wentworth, Lansbrook, East Lake Woodlands, Woodsong, Lake Place, Sail Harbor, Coachman Hill Preserve, Highlands of Innisbrook, Bayou Club Estates and others.
Adapting to changing market needs, and eager to broaden his services, Gary in 2010 founded Gulf Coast Building and General Contracting, LLC.. While retaining Gary's proven expertise in custom home-building, Gulf Coast Building and General Contractors offers a broad range of residential renovation and expansion services. Reinvigorating older homes with innovative design approaches, green design concepts and energy-efficient features is one of the fastest-growing aspects of Gary's business.
"What distinguishes our business from others is our focus on ensuring we don't just meet, but exceed, our customers' expectations on every project, regardless of size or scope," Gary says. "We bring the same commitment and personal attention to expanding or renovating a small home or office as we do to designing and building a 7,000-plus square foot luxury home."
